3-Day Munich Itinerary (2024)

A great place to eat in the center of Munich and the restaurant is approximately a five minute slow walk from Marienplatz. The food is high quality and very tasty. The restaurant has lots of music memorabilia on the walls from lots of famous musicians including Freddie Mercury. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the health precautions are excellent. At the time I visited vaccination status needs to be presented before you can eat in the restaurant.

Luckily placed a reservation. The food was good. I mean nothing special but good. Had the Mac & Cheese chicken. Good one. Prices are high but i guess that's normal when it comes to Hard Rock Cafe all over the world and Munich so I wasn't surprised. Waited longer as expected the get Drinks & food. Overall a good option when you're in Munich. Take your time and you will have a good one for sure

Very pleasant place that has a more "homely" vibe than most hard rock cafes in large cities. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The service was fast despite the place being full, and the food was very tasty. Live music made the experience more pleasant, and even the football World Cup was on to make everyone happy. Thumbs up, would come back here any time.

If you like to try something different than German food, Hard rock cafe is a good choice.The staff is very welcoming and charming. I like the atmosphere. The food was Ok but the drink and dessert was so tasty.

Came here on the last day of Oktoberfest 2022 and was seated right away around noon. We were a party of three and our waitress was very nice. Chicken Ceasars Salad was good. My friend enjoyed his Pulled Pork sandwich but the wings were the best of our meal.

The hard Rock cafe experience is definitely present here. Good food, big American portions, prices are decent and the vibe is good as well. Not sure if there is live music as i visited during an off-peak hour.We ordered the nachos and burgers, nachos were really good, burger could be juicier as they were a bit well-done

To be honest for me every Hard Rock Cafe feels the same, no matter where’s located. Same atmosphere same level of service I can’t rate the food we only had drinks. There was guitar of the guns and roses, jacket of Kiss, Peter Maffay boots and some and other stuff…

The best part of this visit was Albin, our server for dinner. He made us feel very welcome, it felt like he loves his job. We really appreciated him and because of service like his, we will be visiting again.As any tourist-attracting place the prices are a bit higher compared to similar restaurants. The food(diablo burger) was an 8/10 for me, amazing spicy sauce, patties were a tad bland but still fresh and juicy. The drinks were delicious. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Munich.

I was really thrilled to visit Hard Rock Cafe Munich. The experience started very pleasantly as the hostess showed us to the table and the server took our orders. But things were about to get shaky. The server forgot our beers for when we asked about it, he apologized and brought the beers to us. After that the wings and onions rings were amazing. But the chicken sandwich was too dry. The bread was too dry it couldn't be swallowed. I guess they didn't put any sauce on the bread. It ruined the whole experience. Even the patty was dry on the inside. I even told the server about this, he literally said "this is how it is" and still charged me for the same. Well, I expected too much from a German branch of a well renowned American cafe I guess.

First time going to Hard Rock Café in Europe and it was a wonderful time ,I'm absolutely gonna come back again in the future. I order BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger , Hurricane and Cheesecake and it was lit 🌟 and our server, Albin was awesome 🌟 dude deserve a raise! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Had lunch under the Covid-19 G2 stage. Because one of my local friends recommend this restaurant. Initially, I wanted to order Tartar. However, the restaurant staff strongly recommended ordering their signature meals. Then ordered their signature dishes. It was a good choice to follow their suggestion. Minced meat with the herb is juice and a nice balance of meat and herb. Another dish the Duck is not only soft and juice but also in good harmony with their source. Additionally, all restaurant staffs are so friendly and kind:) Strongly recommend trying the restaurant if you’re looking for nice Bavarian foods.

A very nice restaurant in terms of typical Bavarian food and culture. Taste and service is on point. Quiet popular as it is packed even on a Sunday night. Prices are decent for what you get and the waiters are very caring.

Amazing food, drink and atmosphere. Was a bit worried about veggy options but got the chickpea burger which was a little tiny bit spicy and gorgeous! Not normally a beer drinker but the one the waiter recommended was lovely and light. Very happy and would happily recommend!

Amazing place for lunch! 4 of us got there without reservations on a bank holiday but the staff looked after us, opened the lift for me in the wheelchair, gave us a lovely table and even made sure we got special wishes even though the kitchen was extremely busy… and the quality of food and beer - excellent!

We were here years ago and I had the best sandwich ever- schnitzel on pretzel bread… we returned and I was heartbroken because the restaurant was not in the same place. According to the server they moved and while my favorite sandwich was not on the menu they prepared it for me anyway. Loved it again- amazing experience and I highly recommend this restaurant! We had the Apple strudel with vanilla sauce and it is awesome- the best we have had in Munich- 5 stars for this beautiful, unpretentious restaurant in the heart of Munich!!

Amazing food and awesome staff! One of our tour guides recommended this restaurant and we had a great experience. The menu includes many different traditional dishes to try, and a great selection of beers too.We ordered Andechser Meatballs, Wiener Schnitzel, Fusilloni Pesto, and of course Grilled Pig Knuckle. For drinks, I could recommend Andechser Hell for a blonde beer, and my favorite was Andechser Doppelbock for a dark beer.Our waiter was extremely charismatic and always helpful to understand what each dish was, even showing pictures on his phone, etc.The wait time was close to none and they brought all dished together.The price per person was about 20 to 25 euros for the food, and about 5 euros for each large beer.Overall, a great experience and I would totally recommend it for any tourist looking to try local food and a great atmosphere!

Absolutely excellent meal. The best and last dinner we had on or Munich and Nuremberg trip. Perfect way to end a fantastic trip with friendly and thoughtful staff, even a thank you and handshake from the owner when we left. I’d love to get the recipe for the green cabbage and goulash soup! The strudel and schnapps was delicious as well. We will be back!

A local gem behind the busy alley.We had a great experience when we walked into the restaurant, with no reservation. Delicious Bavarian delicacy! The Schweinebraten was cooked perfectly, the meat was juicy and tender, the pork crackling was crunchy and not oily, the sauce was chef’s kiss! Texture of the potato dumplings were chewy and on point. Kaiserschmarrn was the highlight of my lunch! The pancakes with vanilla ice cream and apple sauce were so good and addictive! They have great options for wine too. Service was friendly and welcoming. Very recommended

Very nice place with a selection of Bavarian food and freshly brewed beer. This is all connected with history of Andescher monks since 1455. There are two floors and plenty of tables in here. The prices are moderate. Recommended. Here you can try dishes from the elite beef meat branded as Wagyu.

It’s my first time here and we went there for lunch with my bf and his dad. The food selection is quite good and they even have a vegetarian section. They have Wagyu beef from their own farmhouse if I’m not wrong. I had Waygu Leberknödel (8,50€) and shared a Feinschmecker Vorspeisenbrettl (16,50€ per person) for 2 person. For 2 people portion, I find it not enough. My bf had Lachfilet and his dad had 1/4 or 1/2 Ganse. Including drinks (1 beer and the rest non alcoholic), coffee and a Kaiserschmarrn (one of the best I had), the bill came up to 143€. I didn’t even have a main course and given the price, I say it is pretty expensive hence the deduction of a star.Service was very good, we got a very friendly and nice lady. Food was also very good but drinks are too pricy. I would recommend this place only for special occasions.

Food here is amazing and authentic. It was crowded with both locals and tourists alike. The atmosphere is loud and rowdy with beer flowing. The service was quick and our waiter was short and to the point. Food was very tasty and portion sizes fair. Very flavoursome. Beer was great!

Beautiful restaurant with excellent service and an excellent location- in the heart of the Christmas market. The veal portion was small, but done to perfection. The house white wine was a nice, dry flavor. Dessert was large enough for sharing. Everything was very enjoyable.

We were fortunate enough to have dinner at Ratskeller in April while traveling through Germany.Staff were pleasant and the food was flavorful. The food was everything we were expecting for our Bavarian experience. Prices were reasonable and I was able to feed a family of 5 with appetizers, drinks, entrees and desert for just over 120 euro.

What an amazing and unique restaurant! The architecture inside is incredible, the service by the staff is superb and the food is amazing! My wife and I had lunch here and it was exactly what we had hoped for while visiting. Highly recommend this restaurant!

This is a must try restaurant in München. I always passed by the entrance while in Marienplatz and always thought that due to its location is a tourist trap.. I was so wrong!! Both the service and the food were amazing, and the place itself it was huge and very beautiful decorated!

If you are looking for authentic, old school German, this is the place. Lots of seating and good for large groups. Our waitress was super! We’ve had really excellent German food and I’d say our meal was average. The asparagus soup was a bit watery and needed more salt. You won’t leave hungry as the portions are huge. The pork was good, really enjoyed the two type of dumplings.

The ambiance is totally perfect! Mush visit at least once. The prices are high but when I consider the portions are big and you can order one for 2, so that's fair. The waiters want you to be fast, and always coming and asking if you have decided. Foods are delicious. However, the black forest cake was disappointing for me.

This restaurant is very busy but efficient. Even though the restaurant is huge but better make a reservation if you plan to go during the peak period. Located right by the subway, super easy to find. Food is good. I like potato soup and sausage. The soup is very rich and creamy. Food come with the big portion.

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Munich. Don’t listen to the nonsense that this is a tourist trap. Far from it since I found many locals dining there! Not inexpensive but priced for value with good food portions. I particularly liked the unfiltered larger beer they had on tap!Great Service, good food and old world atmosphere! It's always nice to visit any local place, where the traditional food is served. I would like to highlight the traditional interior, great selection of food and drinks, moderate price for the Munich center. Additionally, the dish size is big, at least for the one I ordered (Schweinshaxe). Also, the speed and the service is top-notch! Definitely worth to visit if you are at Marienplatz.

Recommended by our guide for is great architecture and atmosphere, and indeed the interior is beautiful.Toilets are, however, not free. It says tips are voluntary, but the lady is right in front of the washrooms and makes it very intimidating and difficult not to leave 50 cents before entering.Food tastes good. Do note the actual size of the sausages in the photo if you are ordering the same dish - Munich Rostbratwurstl (there were 6 sausages, I took after one was eaten).

I've been meaning to try this establishment for many years in multiple visits - finally had the opportunity to dine here this evening and what a wonderful experience it was. no trouble on a Monday evening to get an early 6 p.m. walk-in no reservation seating. warm and hospitable greeting from all members of staff especially generous with English speakers. every dish tried was delightful and up to standard. in addition to outstanding service - the beautifully cared for and decorated inside of the Kellerr is of note and worth the dining experience.

Visited on recommendation of my wife's friend who was airline staff, so had visited Munich various times. Not disappointed at all, in fact I was mighty impressed. Both of us had a dish from the favourites selection. Will be back on any future visit to Munich.

The food is so so.. lil over priced. I had the table at the entrance so the atmosphere is not so good. Food was slow. Staff were too busy all the time. I think they make the place too big too handle well. Could have been better with this price we paid.And I paid by card, the staff ask me to walk to the counter, then handed me the machine to tap how much I wanna tip between 5% and 10%. I thought forced tip only happen in US. Now also available in Munich too! 🥴

While we were on holiday in Munich, we wanted to experience authentic German cuisine, so a family member recommended a restaurant to us. The restaurant had a menu book with various food options, and we took our time to find what we wanted to try, although it was a bit challenging. Eventually, we ordered several dishes, and we loved all of them. The staff provided fantastic service, and the restaurant had a beautiful, historic ambiance.

The servers, food and ambience takes one back hundreds of years. All types and levels of shopping from traditional to sports to luxury.

The friendly and efficient staff ensured a smooth experience, and they accept both cash and card payments. While it can get busy with tourists, it simply adds to the vibrant atmosphere. The food was delicious and satisfying. Here's a helpful tip: restrooms have a small plate for tips, so bring some change if you'd like to show your appreciation for the cleaning staff.

The location is excellent: just under the iconic Neues Rathaus building . We had a group dinner, we had Munich side salad, which was little sour and crispy, for entree we had Grilled pork loin with mushrooms a la creme, market vegetables, spaetzie pasta, well, the pork loin was dry and not juicy at all, while mushrooms on creme was just fine, I didn't finish my plate, finally we had Creme Brulée with berries for dessert, my favorite part was the top caramelized layer, crunchy and sweet. The service was courteous.

Chanced upon this very iconic and beautiful Bavarian restaurant and had lunch without any reservation when we were in Munich. The ambience was fantastic, cosy and authentic. Food was great and well presented, except that the price is on the high side.

The Ratskeller in Munich provided my favorite dining experience of my two-week trip to Germany & Austria. The food here was top-notch, as was the beer. The staff was very friendly to our group, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Even if you do nothing else in Munich, just make a reservation at the Ratskeller restaurant.

Restaurant has 1K seats so very busy and can be noisy. Waitstaff is busy running around. The restaurant has many large halls so you may be seated in any of them. Each has its own decor. The beer selection is fine. The food is typical for tourist area. Would not recommend. First waiter gave attitude and second waitress requested a tip even though it took a while, as other reviewers have noted, and no one came around to check on us. Schnitzel was cold and unedible. It’s better in Vienna.

A place with atmosphere, it’s huge! Delicious traditional German food. We ordered schnitzel and it was great, also came with many different sides. It is a bit overpriced I think but it was worth it.

A wonderful experience of international cuisine assorted with Austrian traditions in the heart of Munich. Classic, stylish , extravagant. Love it.

The food was bland, the caramalization failed and it literally burnt.I can understand if the new chef wasn't under Alfons supervisor and delivered that, but I saw alfons greeting us - Leading to the question: Is the quality standard in that restaurant so low?C'mon guys, I'd better go to Burger King next time than that.

Our company booked an event with Chef Schubeck himself at an immense cost per person. None of the promised services were delivered and all 20 guests were appalled at the lack of cleanliness, disinterest of the Chef, terrible manners and horrible food served. The chef repeatedly made racist remarks to his staff and was painfully abusive and rude. We were informed in hindsight that the Chef has declared bankruptcy. The whole evening was an embarrassment and truly one of the worst dinners our employees have ever experienced. Never, ever again will we dine there..!

We had a great experience. I gave this as a gift to my mom. We got a wonderful table, the atmosphere was fantastic, the service was very friendly and knowledgable, and Mr. Schuhbeck even greated all the tables - which was really the highlight. We were 4 people and all dishes (appetizers, mains, and desserts) were absolutely delicious. Traditional Bavarian food beautifully elivated. I'd highly recommend this place!
