Black Hills NF Forest Wide Roof and Siding Replacement (2024)

SCOPE OF CONTRACT

This Project is located at various recreation sites on Black Hills National Forest. The
scope of work for this project includes the following:

1) Removal and replacement of roofing systems on various informational kiosks,
restroom buildings, and pumphouses located throughout the Black Hills National
Forest. The Contractor shall be responsible for removal and disposal of
materials removed on each building, assessing deck and fascia board, and
providing and installing new roofingsystems and as described in the Project Specifications.

2) Remove and replace siding and/or fascia on various informational kiosks, restroom
buildings, and pumphouses located throughout the Black Hills National Forest.
Contractor shall be responsible for removal and disposal of all siding on each building,
assessing condition of building wrap and sheathing, and providing and installing new
building wrap, sheathing, and siding as described in the Project Specifications.

Contractor shall be responsible for all materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals
necessary to complete the work and includes painting/staining all exposed exterior
wood siding, trim, columns, and beams for each building awarded.

The Contractor shall be responsible for field verifying all dimensions and quantities of
materials required on this project.

This project consists of Base Items and Optional Items. Base Items will be awarded at
the agreed upon price. Optional Items may or may not be awarded depending on price
and availability of funding. If Option Items are awarded, work shall begin on Optional
Item(s) as designated by the Government Contracting Officer. The Government shall
have 30 days after initial award to award Optional Items at the original submitted price.

ALL construction activities shall be performed in accordance with all applicable OSHA
standards or regulations. Some of the safety hazards that may be encountered while
working on this site will be use of ladders, lifts, hoists, various hand tools, working on
sloped surfaces, use of fall protection equipment, and use of applicable PPE.

The Contractor will be required to cooperate with Government during construction
operations to minimize conflicts and facilitate Government usage. Work shall be
performed so as not to interfere with Government's day-to-day operations. Work
shall be scheduled to minimize impacts to Government. All constructions operations
shall be confined to immediate area of work. Contractor shall sweep and clean work
areas and accessways daily to remove nails, screws, staples, and other construction
debris and minimize hazards to government employees, vehicles, and the public.
Contractor shall not disturb portions of site that are not included in the described Work.

Contractor shall provide schedules in electronic format and include a written
summary narrative to explain basis of approach to work. Schedule contract work and
monitor progress using a Critical Path Method (CPM) or similar type scheduling system.
Prepare construction Schedule to complete the Work within the contract time requirement.

The project is located at various locations throughout the Black Hills National Forest in western South Dakota. Locations are in the following counties; Custer, Fall River, Lawrence, and Pennington.
